Ice Storm January 2009

Here are some pictures of the ice storm that rolled through NW Arkansas on Monday and Tuesday, January 26 & 27, 2009 and left almost everyone out of electricity and with a lot of tree damage. We were fortunate not to have as much tree damage as a lot of people and our electricity was back on Thursday evening, January 29. At this time, there are still over 60,000 residents without power. Wes, Kristal, Quinton, Weston, Jason, Carrie and Kenyan all came home and spent Monday-Wednesday with us due to no heat in their homes. Jason and Carrie's power was restored Wednesday, so they went back home at that time. Wes and Kristal are still patiently waiting for their power to be restored, but due to the extensive damage on their property it could be several more days. Today was our first sunny day, so we were able to get out and pick up some sticks! Jacob and Crystal are also still waiting on electricity, but are staying at Crystal's parents and coming here to get warm showers and wash clothes! It is giving us a chance to enjoy our kids and grandkids!!

The Church is also still out of electricity so we are having to cancel our Sunday Services because we have no heat!

It doesn't show up very well, but Wes' Montero got in the way of one of our tree branches that fell and put a dent in his hood! :(

Wyatt came and got in on the fun!
